APLF-Leather covers the leather supply chain from raw, crust to finished leathers, chemicals, dyes, tanning machinery, design and support services and Materials+ covers footwear components, performance fabrics, accessories, fibres, manufacturing equipment and wearable technologies. Although Asia Pacific Leather Fair (APLF) Hong Kong Fair, which was first held in 1984, started targeting the Asia Pacific region, it has become the indispensable focal point of the international leather industry in the process. APLF has dedicated many years to organising leather and fashion trade shows, attracting 60,000 visitors annually and providing the venue for first-rate business and networking amongst exhibitors, buyers and industry professionals.
Lastly, the APLF Leather & Materials + Fair, which was held in Hong Kong in 2019, could not be held in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic that started in 2020. As a continuation of 2022, the fair was held again at Dubai World Trade Center on 13-15 March 2023.
The APLF Fair, which was organized for the 24th time by our Association this year, was held again in Dubai/United Arab Emirates. 15 countries from 11 countries and regions, including Botswana, Brazil, China, Egypt, France, India, Italy, Pakistan, South Africa, Turkey and Vietnam, participated in the fair, which was held in a total area of 16,000 m2. In addition to Turkey, 341 exhibitors from 34 countries and regions, mainly Austria, Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Spain, UAE and USA, had the opportunity to exhibit their products at the fair.
Turkish national participation is organized by Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters’ Association since the year 1989. In March 2023, within the scope of Turkish national participation; A total of 20 Turkish companies, 17 in the processed-semi-processed leather and fur product group and 3 in the machinery and chemicals product group, took part in the fair with a net stand area of 528 m2. Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters Association provided information to visitors with its 18 m2 Info Stand.
